Global ESG Disclosures Timeline

This document presents a strategic overview of the global ESG disclosure landscape, structured as a forward-looking timeline with an outlook through 2029.

It maps the evolving sustainability reporting landscape across North America (NOAM), Europe, APAC, and MEA, capturing a mix of mandatory regulations, phased implementation schedules, evolving assurance requirements, and voluntary or market-driven frameworks in each region.

The Global Roadmap: Mandatory ESG Disclosure Deadlines (2025–2028)

The timeline functions as a practical roadmap, clarifying who is in scope, what must be disclosed, and when obligations take effect.

Key elements include:

Regional Jurisdictions: Detailed tracking of legislative and regulatory developments across specific regions and countries.

Compliance Milestones: Clear identification of critical implementation dates, including:

  • First reporting years
  • Phased rollouts by company size or filer status
  • Assurance requirements (limited and reasonable assurance)
  • Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas disclosure timelines

Regulatory Scope and Frameworks Covered: Coverage of major sustainability and climate-related frameworks and regulations.
